On July 6, 1995, 16-year-old Hispanic female Dana Sanchez was abducted and murdered in Houston, Texas. According to court records and later confessions, Dana Sanchez had been using a public pay phone when she was approached by Anthony Allen Shore, a man who would later become known as the "Tourniquet Killer." Shore offered Dana a ride, and when she accepted, he made unwanted sexual advances. When she resisted, a violent altercation ensued.
Shore later admitted to strangling the 16-year-old Hispanic girl, though he claimed he did not sexually assault her. Her nude, partially decomposed body was discovered days later in a field in Harris County, with a yellow rope wrapped around her
