Carlos Clark, a 25-year-old male from Texarkana, Texas, tragically passed away on February 10, 2018. He was shot in the early morning hours at a gas station parking lot on State Line Avenue in Texarkana. According to reports, Clark and another man were sitting in a car when Tyvon Montrel Gullatt, a 23-year-old man, allegedly attempted to rob them. Gullatt got into the back seat of the car and pulled out a gun, shooting Clark in the lower back at close range.
Clark and his friend managed to flee the car, but Clark succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, Gullatt was arrested and indicted by a grand jury for murder. He was found guilty of the crime and sentenced to life in prison with an additional $10,000 fine. The investigation revealed that Gullatt had been eyeing the large amount of cash Clark had in his pocket earlier in the night while playing a dice game. Gullatt followed Clark and his friend to the gas station, where he carried out the robbery attempt.
