On the evening of March 8, 2018, Keiobi Ryan, a 37-year-old Black man, was shot in Dallas near 465 South R. L. Thornton Freeway in the Oak Cliff area. Dallas police said officers were called to the scene at about 7:50 p.m. and found him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue took him to Methodist Hospital, but he did not survive.
