Trevion Veal, a 16-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on March 12, 2018, in El Paso, Texas. Veal was found dead in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Wren Avenue, near Irvin High School, where he was a student. The deal was set up with a person using the profile name "Moy ZanDalio ," who later identified himself as "Loko from Midnight." The final exchange of messages and calls between Veal and Moy occurred just minutes before the shooting.
The police investigation led to the arrest of two suspects in connection with Veal's death. Moses Jack Popp, a 17-year-old male, was arrested and charged with murder. Popp, a confirmed member of the Los Midnight Locos street gang, was known to the police from previous interactions. He was taken into custody and his bail was set at $750,000. The second suspect, Richard Soriano, a 20-year-old male, was also arrested and charged with murder. Soriano was booked into the county jail with a bond set at $1 million. The police believe that other individuals may have been involved in the shooting, and further arrests were expected.
