Tamaris Andre Taylor, a 19-year-old male from San Antonio, Texas, was tragically shot to death on March 13, 2018. Taylor was found in his vehicle around 1:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of Upland Road. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. According to preliminary information from a San Antonio Police Department report, Taylor was sitting in the driver's seat when he was approached by an unidentified suspect who fired several rounds into the vehicle, striking him.

The investigation into Taylor's death revealed that a witness saw the shooting and reported that the suspect drove away in a silver Nissan Altima. Police were able to tie phone records to a suspect, Kevin Luster, who was arrested and charged with Taylor's murder. Luster's phone records showed that he called Taylor just minutes before the shooting, and he admitted to setting up the meeting that led to Taylor's death. Luster claimed he did not know Taylor would be killed, but he knew Taylor would be robbed at gunpoint.

A second suspect, 19-year-old Zyshonne Napier, was also arrested in connection with Taylor's murder. Napier's car was seen in the area at the time of the shooting, and Luster told police that Napier was involved in the crime. Both Luster and Napier were charged with Taylor's murder, and the case went to court.

The investigation and subsequent arrests brought some measure of justice for Taylor's family, but the loss of a young life in such a violent manner remains a tragic and painful event for the community. The case highlighted the dangers of meeting strangers and the importance of personal safety precautions.
