The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office determined that Cojuan's death was a result of homicide caused by a single gunshot to the head.
Justin Johnson was subsequently charged with manslaughter for his role in Cojuan's death. He was accused of knowingly placing an unsafe and illegal firearm within the child's reach. Johnson's bail was set at $45,000, and he faced legal proceedings for his involvement in the tragic incident.
