Dr. Mark Hausknecht, a 65-year-old Caucasian male, was a renowned cardiologist at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX. On July 20, 2018, while riding his bicycle to work, Dr. Hausknecht was tragically shot and killed by Joseph James Pappas, a former deputy constable. The shooting occurred in broad daylight, and Dr. Hausknecht was found by a passing ambulance and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
