On March 28, 2019, Glenn Allen Takakura, a 44-year-old male of Japanese descent, was fatally shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Houston, Texas. Takakura, who worked as a pizza delivery driver for Papa John's, was delivering a pizza when he was killed in what authorities believe was an attempted robbery. He was found dead between two cars, and his car was still running when he was discovered.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office has stated that two suspects, described as
black males, fled the scene in a silver Honda Accord or Civic. Surveillance video captured the vehicle used in the shooting, and investigators have released this footage to the public in hopes of identifying the suspects. The motive for the shooting is believed to be robbery, as Takakura was shot shortly after making a delivery.
Despite an ongoing investigation and a reward offered by Papa John's for information leading to the arrest of the suspects, no arrests have been made in connection with Takakura's death. The case remains unsolved, and the Harris County Sheriff's Office continues to seek information from the public.
Papa John's has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and has pledged to cover Takakura's funeral expenses. The company has also cooperated fully with law enforcement officials throughout the investigation. The community and Takakura's family are still awaiting justice for his tragic death.
