Maria Eugenia Legarreta Rothe, a 58-year-old woman of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost her life in the El Paso mass shooting on August 3, 2019. The incident occurred at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, where a gunman opened fire on shoppers, killing 23 people and injuring 26 others.
