Emilio Aguilar, a 29-year-old Hispanic man from Houston, Texas, tragically died on August 24, 2019, from a gunshot wound. Aguilar was found dead inside a room at Motel 19 in Baytown, Texas, after being shot in the face. The incident was later determined to be a botched robbery.
Three individuals were charged with capital murder in connection with Aguilar's death. Stephen Swancie Martin, Gregory Ryan Maze, and Henry Carr Jr. were arrested and charged with capital murder.
According to police, the four suspects, including Angela Strokos, planned to rob Aguilar because they believed he had a large amount of money. Martin, Maze, and Carr forced their way into Aguilar's motel room, and Martin shot Aguilar once in the face during the robbery.
Martin, Maze, and Carr were taken into custody and are awaiting transfer to the Harris County Jail. Strokos was also arrested but on unrelated drug charges and remains in the Harris County Jail.
