On August 31, 2019, Justin Lord, a 44-year-old male Assistant District Attorney in Dallas County, was found dead in his Rowlett, TX home. The Rowlett Police Department confirmed that Lord died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Collin County Medical Examiner's Office also ruled his death as a suicide.
Earlier that morning, Lord was involved in a car crash in Palmer, TX, and was found walking down the street with blood on his face and shirt. He was taken to Ennis Regional Hospital for examination, where his blood alcohol content was checked. Lord admitted to having consumed "three or four" drinks that night and was informed that if his blood alcohol content was over the legal limit, he would be arrested for driving while intoxicated. After being released from the hospital, Lord was taken home by his wife, where he was later found dead.
There were no arrests, suspects, or ongoing investigations related to his death, as it was determined to be a suicide. No litigations or murder cases were associated with his passing.
