Shaun Marvin Baker, a 34-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, tragically lost his life on November 18, 2019. He was fatally shot in the chest during an attempted robbery. Baker had briefly stopped his car when a juvenile approached him with a gun, demanding that he exit the vehicle. Instead of complying, Baker drove off, but was shot twice in the process. He lost control of his car and crashed into five parked vehicles.

The teen was initially charged with capital murder but later pleaded guilty to a reduced murder charge. As a result, he avoided being certified as an adult and received a 10-year sentence in the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. Two other juveniles involved in the incident were not charged but agreed to be state witnesses.
