Diego Barrera, a 21-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost his life on December 22, 2019, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred outside Headliners Sports Bar in northwest Harris County. Surveillance footage revealed that Barrera and another victim, Alturion Banks, were shot multiple times by two men, Jason Cisneros and Xavier Fletcher, after an altercation in Barrera's car.
The Harris County prosecutor stated that Barrera was shot nine times, while Banks was shot six
times. The altercation reportedly began when Barrera produced a jar of marijuana, leading to a confrontation with Fletcher in the front seat. Gunfire then erupted from the rear passenger side of the vehicle, where Cisneros was seen entering. After exiting the car, Fletcher and Cisneros were seen pushing over Barrera as if they were searching for something.
Both Cisneros and Fletcher were arrested and charged with capital murder. Cisneros was held without bond, while Fletcher was arrested seven weeks after the shooting. The case drew significant attention due to the violent nature of the crime and the involvement of multiple suspects.
