Chris Dickerson, a 28-year-old white male, was a Panola County Sheriff's Deputy who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on December 31, 2019, in Gary, Texas. Deputy Dickerson was conducting a routine traffic stop around 2 a.m. on FM 10 near FM 2260 when the driver of the vehicle, Gregory Newson, suddenly exited and opened fire with a semi-automatic rifle.
