Errick Smith, a 45-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on May 4, 2020, while sitting on the front porch of his residence in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the 4400 block of Mowery Road. Neighbors reported hearing several gunshots but did not hear any argument or screaming prior to the shooting. Errick Smith was found by his neighbors, who attempted to provide medical assistance.
However, Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased.
The Houston Police Department launched an investigation into the fatal shooting, but as of now, there is no known motive or suspect in the case. Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact the HPD Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspect responsible for Errick Smith's death.
Despite the ongoing investigation, no arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved.
