Derek Andrew Simpson Carr, a 27-year-old male, tragically lost his life on June 2, 2020, in Dallas, TX. He was found shot multiple times in the parking lot of the Sutton Place Apartments at 18600 Dallas Parkway. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Carr succumbed to his injuries.
The Dallas Police Department launched a homicide investigation into Carr's death. During their investigation, they identified two persons of interest based on surveillance images from the scene.
The police released these images to the public, seeking help in identifying and locating these individuals. One of the persons of interest was seen entering a 7-Eleven and getting into a black Toyota Prius shortly after the shooting.
Detectives urged anyone with information about the suspects to come forward and contact Detective Patty Belew. The Dallas Police Department also offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
The investigation remains ongoing, with the police continuing to search for the suspects and gather evidence to bring those responsible for Carr's death to justice.
