Anthony Cristobal, 23, a Hispanic/Latino male from Dallas, was shot during an early-morning confrontation between two groups on July 21, 2025, in the 2000 block of West Northwest Highway. Police said he retrieved a gun from a vehicle and pointed it at a 22-year-old man amid the dispute. A commissioned security guard working for a nearby business, Luisadolfo Mena, reportedly gave loud commands for him to drop the weapon.
As the struggle spilled over, the man Cristobal had confronted assaulted someone in Cristobal’s group, and Cristobal began firing. The guard returned fire, and another individual also opened fire toward Cristobal. He was struck, received aid from additional security personnel, and was taken by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a hospital, where he died.
Detectives later identified the other two men involved as Anthony Aguilera and Heriberto Aguilera. According to police, a grand jury referral will be made in the shooting by Mena and Heriberto Aguilera. Anthony Aguilera was arrested for assault and booked into the Dallas County Jail, and Heriberto Aguilera was arrested on a weapons charge. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact the lead detective on the case.
