On June 8, 2020, in Lubbock, Texas, 15-year-old Manuel Rodriguez, a Hispanic male, was fatally shot in what authorities described as an accidental shooting. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of 22nd Street, where officers responded to reports of shots fired just before 7 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Manuel with a gunshot wound; he was transported to University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
