Laura Veronica Alaniz, a 43-year-old woman of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost her life on July 4, 2020, in Brownsville, Texas. She was found dead inside a building on East Tyler Street along with 42-year-old Ricardo Lopez. The discovery was made by authorities responding to a "death investigation" call around 2 p.m. that day. At the time, it was unclear whether the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide or if a suspect was involved, and the case remained under investigation.
