Joseph Terrell McGowen, a 48-year-old male from Houston, Texas, tragically passed away on July 22, 2020. According to reports, McGowen was fatally shot by Clifford Wayne Laws, Jr., a 20-year-old male, during an altercation at McGowen's residence. The incident occurred when Laws, who was arguing with his girlfriend, produced a semi-automatic rifle and shot McGowen multiple times after McGowen attempted to intervene. Laws then fled the scene but was later arrested and charged with murder.
