On April 23, 2015, 30-year-old Martin "Popeye" Cardenas was fatally shot in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred in the early morning hours at a residence located in the 7000 block of Avenue L. Houston Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Cardenas with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
