Artina Simmons Cooper, a 33-year-old woman from Houston, Texas, tragically died on September 28, 2020. She was found dead alongside her husband, Herschell Cooper, 34, in what was determined to be an apparent murder-suicide incident. The couple was discovered in the driveway of their residence at 14400 Wildwood Springs Lane by responding officers who were alerted to a shooting at the location.
Both victims had suffered apparent gunshot wounds and were pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics from the Houston Fire Department.
The investigation by the Houston Police Department revealed that a gun was recovered at the scene, and there were no other suspects involved. Detectives from the HPD Homicide Division, D. Higgs and J. Caten, reported that the incident appeared to be a murder-suicide, with no indication of any other individuals being involved. The HPD urged anyone with additional information to contact the Homicide Division.
