Then Huynh, a 32-year-old man of Vietnamese descent, was tragically shot and killed on January 9, 2015, while unloading groceries outside his girlfriend's townhome in the Heights neighborhood of Houston, Texas. Witnesses reported hearing screaming and a gunshot before finding Huynh wounded on the ground. He was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
