On October 30, 2020, Jose Francisco Galeano Antunez, a 38-year-old man of Hispanic ethnicity, was fatally shot in North Austin, Texas. Antunez was outside his home when two suspects approached him and his friends in a maroon sedan, offering to sell them drugs. When Antunez declined, the suspects drove off but returned minutes later, attempting to rob the group. During the altercation that followed, Antunez was shot and later pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by medics.
