On January 20, 2021, 20-year-old Michael Quintero was fatally shot in the chest in the 4800 Block of Shands Drive, Mesquite, TX. The Mesquite Police Department responded to the scene and found Quintero, who was later transported to a local hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Detectives determined that Quintero's death was an isolated incident and assured the public that there was no danger to the community.
