On the morning of his 17th birthday, Titus and his mother, Holly Beverly, were shot
to death in their apartment by Holly's estranged husband, Timothy Beverly. Timothy Beverly then took his own life. The incident was classified as a murder-suicide. Holly Beverly, a beloved teacher at Hope Works Christian Academy, was also deeply loved by her family and community.
The Fort Worth Police Department conducted an investigation into the tragic incident. However, since the shooter died by suicide, there were no arrests or suspects identified. The case did not lead to any litigations or ongoing investigations, as the primary perpetrator was deceased.
The community and Titus's family were devastated by the loss. Titus's father, Wallace Akins, expressed his grief and the pain of losing his son on what was supposed to be a celebratory day. The family has since been seeking answers and support to cope with the tragedy.
