Quincey Brooks Jr., a 22-year-old male, tragically died on June 8, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. Brooks was found lying on the breezeway floor of an apartment complex with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation revealed that Shohreh Rachelle Polozadeh, Brooks' girlfriend and the mother of his 2-year-old son, was responsible for his death.
Polozadeh, who was 20 years old at the time, was arrested and charged with murder. According to police reports, Polozadeh claimed that Brooks had been threatening her and that she shot him in self-defense. However, her statements were found to be contradictory and misleading. Text messages exchanged between the couple on the day of the incident showed that Polozadeh had threatened Brooks just hours before the shooting.
Despite the initial charges, the murder case against Polozadeh was eventually dismissed by the Dallas County District Attorney's Office on November 17, 2022. The dismissal was due to inconsistencies in Polozadeh's statements and a lack of corroborating evidence.
