On May 19, 2024, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of West Northwest Highway. Upon arrival, officers discovered 34-year-old Jamal Cooksey lying in a parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
