On June 13, 2021, 20-year-old Kelvin Shepherd was fatally shot in Humble, Texas, during a car sale gone wrong. Shepherd and a friend went to the 15100 block of Winter Dawn Way to look at a car that was for sale. During the negotiations, two men, Ashim Taylor and Brandon Harris, allegedly attempted to rob Shepherd and his friend. Shepherd was shot and killed during the robbery, collapsing on a nearby home's front porch.
