On July 25, 2021, 62-year-old Lonnie Eldridge Lewis Jr., an African American male, was found fatally shot at a homeless encampment in Dallas, Texas. The incident occurred near the intersection of Chestnut Street, where Dallas police discovered Mr. Lewis with a gunshot wound. Emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene.
