Jeffrey Bryant Blankley, a 51-year-old man from College Station, Texas, tragically died on August 15, 2021. He was shot while driving his SUV in the parking lot of a Walmart in College Station. She had even been arrested three days before the shooting for violating a criminal trespassing order by going to Blankley's apartment complex. Despite being warned by the police to stay away from Blankley, Phan continued her pursuit.
On June 22, 2023, Phan pled guilty to the murder of Jeffrey Blankley and was sentenced to 45 years in prison. The court found that her actions were driven by obsessive behavior and a pattern of stalking Blankley after their breakup.
