33-year-old man from Sachse, Texas, was identified as a person of interest in the case. Hall had rented a vehicle matching the description of the one seen in the video of the argument and was found to have gunshot residue on his hands. Additionally, a spent shell casing matching the caliber and weapon used in the shooting was found in the rented vehicle. Hall was taken into custody in October 2021 and was indicted on one count of murder by a Taylor County grand jury in December 2021.
Hall faced multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of controlled substances. He was held in Taylor County Jail with a bond set at $505,000. The investigation revealed that Hall was not definitively identified in the video of the argument, but the evidence collected was sufficient to charge him with Veliz's murder.
