Cedillo was shot following an argument with his neighbor, Luis Angel Alvarado, in the parking lot of their apartment complex on Somerset Road. The altercation escalated when Alvarado allegedly pointed a gun at Cedillo, prompting Cedillo to confront him. During the confrontation, Alvarado fired multiple shots, resulting in Cedillo's death at the scene.
