William Farr, a 50-year-old deaf man, was found dead on February 7, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas. His body was discovered on the sidewalk outside an apartment complex in the 600 block of South Rio Grande Street. Farr, who was unable to hear or speak, was found with a small index card that had the word "sorry" written on it. Initially, there were no obvious signs of foul play or physical trauma, but an autopsy revealed a small-caliber bullet wound on his chest.
