Raul Yamamoto, a 38-year-old Hispanic male, was tragically killed on September 21, 2021, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred at an apartment complex located at 8801 Glencrest Street, just north of Hobby Airport. According to the Houston Police Department, Yamamoto was lured to the apartment complex via social media. Upon his arrival, he was ambushed by four suspects who robbed him at gunpoint and then shot him multiple times.
Yamamoto was found dead inside an abandoned apartment by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.
The suspects involved in this heinous crime were identified as Josue Climaco, an 18-year-old Hispanic male, and Andres Lopez, a 17-year-old Hispanic male. Additionally, a 16-year-old juvenile male and a 16-year-old juvenile female were also implicated in the murder. All four suspects were charged with capital murder. Climaco and Lopez were charged in the 262nd and 183rd State District Courts, respectively, while the two juveniles were referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities.
The investigation revealed that the suspects had planned the attack by luring Yamamoto to the location through social media. Once he arrived, they ambushed him, robbed him, and then shot him multiple times. The motive behind the crime remains unclear, but the suspects were apprehended shortly after the incident. The juvenile female was taken into custody on October 18, followed by the juvenile male on October 19. Climaco and Lopez were arrested on October 21 without incident.
