On December 29, 2021, Manuel Cruz, a 24-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity from Brownsville, Texas, was found dead along with his father, Ines Cruz, 49, on Old Port Isabel Road in Brownsville. Both victims had gunshot wounds to their heads and were bound with rope, with tape over their mouths and black T-shirts over their heads, indicating an execution-style killing. Authorities believe the men were killed elsewhere and their bodies were dumped at the location.
