In the months following Garza's death, multiple arrests were made in connection with the case. Joel Francisco Rojas, 23, was charged with murder and tampering with evidence. Sara Ramirez, 21, was also arrested and charged with murder and aggravated robbery in a separate incident. Additionally, John Marcos Araniva, 21, was identified as a suspect and later arrested after being on the run for over two years.
