On a summer evening in St. Louis, what began as a gathering of individuals would end in the tragic death of Edward Lamont Tammons. In the early hours of Thursday, June 30, 2016, the 36-year-old Black / African American man was in the company of others in the 5000 block of Kensington Avenue, located in the city's Academy neighborhood. An argument broke out within the group, and the verbal altercation quickly escalated to violence.
