Jayshun Jurail Anders, a 19-year-old male from Midland, Texas, tragically lost his life on June 26, 2022. He was born on September 8, 2002, and was known for his love of sports, video games, and music. Jayshun was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who was deeply cherished by his family and friends.

The investigation into Jayshun's death revealed that he was shot by a group of juveniles who arrived at his apartment early in the morning on June 26, 2022. As soon as Jayshun opened the door, the group opened fire, resulting in his death. The Midland Police Department collected sixteen shell casings and photographs of the bullet holes in the apartment as evidence.

The primary suspect in the case, 17-year-old Aaron Olivares Duran, was only 15 at the time of the murder. Duran, along with three other juveniles, planned the robbery and/or murder of Jayshun, as evidenced by over 9,000 pages of Instagram and Facebook records. Duran was tried as an adult and pleaded guilty to the crime. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder.

The case highlighted the severity of the crime and the maturity of the juvenile involved, leading to Duran's certification as an adult for prosecution. The other juvenile involved in the planning was killed in a different shooting in July 2022. Duran was apprehended in the fall of 2022 and detained at Culver Detention Center before being transferred to Midland County Detention Center in May 2024.

Jayshun's death has left a profound impact on his family and the community, who continue to remember him fondly and seek justice for his untimely passing.
