On September 29, 2022, a tragic shooting occurred in McGregor, Texas, resulting in the death of 15-year-old Miguel Avila. Miguel, a Hispanic male, was a student at McGregor High School and was known for his hardworking nature and close bond with his family. He was killed alongside his 14-year-old sister, Natallie Avila, and their mother, Monica Delgado, aged 38.
