Phillip Betts, a 26-year-old male, tragically died on November 29, 2022, in Dallas, Texas. The incident occurred at a Family Dollar store on South Lancaster Road in Oak Cliff. Betts, who was African American, was involved in a confrontation with store employees over allegedly stolen items. During the altercation, Betts reportedly struck one of the female employees multiple times with his fists.
