On December 3, 2022, 46-year-old Ronnie Wilson was fatally shot at a QuikTrip gas station in Lancaster, TX. Witnesses reported that Wilson exchanged words with the suspect before being shot in the back as he turned to walk away. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Diavian Roberts, was arrested later that day with the assistance of the Dallas Police Department and U.S. Marshals. Roberts was linked to another murder in Dallas earlier that week, which led to his arrest.
