Charles Armstrong Henry, a 36-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was a dedicated officer with the Shelbyville Police Department in Tennessee. On October 31, 1911, Officer Henry and his colleague, Officer Redden Purdy, were tragically shot and killed by a suspect they had arrested earlier that day for drunk and disorderly conduct. The suspect had been released on bail and vowed revenge on the officers. Later that night, he ambushed them, resulting in their deaths.
