In the early morning hours of August 14, 1997, a call regarding a possible suicide in Covington, Tennessee, set in motion a tragic chain of events. Sergeant Charles Lanny Bridges, a 50-year-old male and a 25-year veteran of the Covington Police Department, was one of the officers who responded to the scene.
