In the early morning hours of April 27, 2006, the life of 23-year-old Edwin Joe Todd Jr. was tragically cut short in a parking lot in Knoxville, Tennessee. A college student who had moved to the South from Chicago, he was known to his family as 'JR' and to his friends as 'Shaq' because of his love for basketball. Those who knew him described him as a caring older brother and a comical prankster with a passion for music, particularly drumming.
