In the quiet evening of March 5, 2009, Lester Marvin Walton Sr., a 66-year-old African American man, was simply enjoying a visit with his family in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was at his 92-year-old mother's home on Ashland Avenue, watching a basketball game on television with his wife, when the peace was shattered by the sound of gunfire.
