On the evening of September 15, 2009, Christopher Lynn McBath, a 26-year-old African American male, was sitting on a porch on Better Tomorrow Drive in the Western Heights neighborhood of Knoxville, Tennessee. What should have been a peaceful evening turned tragic when he was fatally shot. This act of violence cut short the life of a man remembered by his family as a kind and loving individual who brought joy to those around him and was a father to four children.
