On a cold November night in Waterloo, Iowa, the life of 19-year-old Talasa Wright, a Black/African American female, was tragically cut short. On November 11, 2016, at approximately 11 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the air near the intersection of Linn and Gable Streets. When police responded to the "shots fired" call, they discovered Wright inside a car, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
