In a tragic turn of events on February 21, 2014, Sharice Sherry Turner, a 34-year-old female, was found deceased in her Memphis, Tennessee, home. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the face. The incident unfolded inside her residence in the 3600 block of Firethorne Drive, near Winchester Road and Hickory Hill Road.
The circumstances of her death were particularly harrowing as the couple's two children, who were 15 and 12 years old at the time, were present in the house when the
shooting occurred. Investigators identified her husband, Detrick Turner, as the primary suspect in the domestic violence-related homicide.
Following an investigation into the fatal shooting, Detrick Turner was arrested and charged with the murder of his wife. In November 2017, a jury convicted him of second-degree murder for the death of Sharice Turner. After the conviction, he was held without bond to await sentencing by a Criminal Court Judge. The case was prosecuted by the Shelby County District Attorney's Domestic Violence Prosecution Unit, which handles felony cases of domestic assault and homicide committed by intimate partners.
