On the line was Joseph Parker, who calmly confessed to murdering his 44-year-old wife two days earlier, on what would have been their twelfth wedding anniversary. When officers arrived at the Clydesdale Lane residence, they discovered a horrific scene. Samantha Parker, a white female, was found deceased in a freezer in the garage. Her body had been partially dismembered.
The catalyst for the discovery was Joseph's bizarre and chilling confession to the 911 dispatcher. He claimed that after shooting Samantha in the head and placing her in the freezer, he had checked on her and found she was still alive and blinking. He told the dispatcher he had given her water and that she needed medical help. However, upon their arrival, emergency services confirmed that Samantha had been deceased for some time and there was no possibility she could have been alive.
The suspect in Samantha's murder was her husband, 45-year-old Joseph Parker. After making the 911 call, he fled the area, sparking a multi-agency manhunt. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation added him to their Top 10 Most Wanted list. Authorities tracked his cell phone and later his vehicle. The pursuit ended later that day in Kentucky, just across the state line. As law enforcement officers approached his vehicle, Joseph Parker died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
